Daytona Beach Overview
Adventure awaits in Daytona Beach! The sparkling waters and 23 miles of relaxing, white soft sands of Daytona Beach lure many a traveller. Whether it’s simply basking on the beach, or the surfing, kite boarding, parasailing, boating or deep-sea fishing that attracts you to the Atlantic waters, this oceanside Florida playground has something for everyone.
If you have any interest at all in NASCAR, Daytona is somewhere you just have to visit. Head to the Motorsports Hall of Fame before taking your seat in the bleachers for the Daytona 500 at the International Speedway. This amazing sporting spectacle is held every February.
If you don’t have a burning passion for motorsports, Daytona Beach is also one of the finest beach resorts in the USA. There’s enough beach space to accommodate millions of sunbathers, every kind of water-sport you could imagine and a promenade packed with great bars and restaurants. Without moving from the sands at Daytona Beach you can surf, jet ski, go boating, parasailing, feast on hot dogs and cotton candy, go fishing, bicycling, fly a kite and even take a drive in a hired beach buggy.
With so much to do on the beach, it is difficult to find time to move off it, but those who do are greeted with numerous recreational facilities and attractions in the string of towns along the intracoastal waterway and on the mainland. From archaeological sites to mini-golf, museums to haunted houses, and planetariums to chocolate factories there is never a dull moment in Daytona Beach. Best of all, Daytona Beach is within easy day-trip distance of Orlando and its theme parks. Also just an hour’s drive away is the Kennedy Space Center.
So pack your beach towel and get ready for a treat during your next Florida getaway.
