Day 1 Chicago, IL

Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Chicago. The "Windy City" lies along the shores of Lake Michigan and is known for its vibrant arts scene, numerous cultural attractions, excellent shopping, and interesting architecture. Overnight in Chicago.

Day 2 Chicago , IL

Spend the day exploring Chicago. Overnight in Chicago.

Day 3 Chicago, IL

Enjoy another day in the 'windy city'. Overnight in Chicago.

Day 4 Whitehall, MI

Collect your hire car and drive along the southern and eastern coasts of Lake Michigan to the little town of Whitehall, located in northern Muskegon County about five miles from the Lake Michigan coastline. The White Lake area offers a host of outdoor activities. Also consider a visit to the White River Lighthouse, the world's largest weathervane. Overnight in Whitehall.

Day 5 Traverse City, MI

Drive north along the eastern shore of Lake Michigan to Traverse City. En-route, consider a stop at Ludington Sate Park for stunning views over Lake Michigan. In Traverse City you can explore the outdoors at the Sleeping Bear Dunes, sip local wine, or enjoy a day at the lakeshore. Overnight in Traverse City.

Day 6 Traverse City, MI

Spend a full day exploring the huge sand dunes in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Overnight in Traverse City.

Day 7 Mackinac Island, MI

Enjoy another scenic lake-edge drive today as you make your way to Mackinac Island. Park your car at Mackinaw City and then take the foot passenger ferry over to Mackinac Island. The afternoon is free to explore this car-free island with transportation confined to horse and carriage. Visit historic Fort Mackinac and the island's lovely limestone bluffs and emerald green forests. Overnight in Mackinac Island.

Day 8 Mackinac Island, MI

Spend a full-day enjoying 'The jewel of the Great Lakes'. Enjoy beautiful vistas, shopping, and carriage rides during the day, and watch the city transform at night with its happening music and bar scene. Mackinac Island has something for everyone. Overnight in Mackinac Island.

Day 9 Marquette, MI

Return to your car and drive across the Straits of Mackinac to Marquette in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. This is a delightfully scenic drive through Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Overnight in Marquette.

Day 10 Marquette, MI

Michigan's Upper Peninsula is lightly populated and full of picturesque forests, lakes and mountains. Overnight in Marquette.

Day 11 Green Bay, WI

Head inland, away from Lake Superior, today as you drive south to Green Bay. You may wish to stop at Escanaba River State Park before crossing into Wisconsin. Overnight in Green Bay.

Day 12 Ephraim, WI

Leaving Green Bay, drive along the Door Peninsula to the little town of Ephraim. This scenic peninsula has 300 miles of shoreline, 11 lighthouses, and is known for its cherry and apple orchards. Overnight in Ephraim.

Day 13 Milwaukee, WI

Drive along the western shore of Lake Michigan to the city of Milwaukee. There is time this afternoon to explore this lakefront city and enjoy its resurgent shops, restaurants and nightlife. Overnight in Milwaukee.

Day 14 Milwaukee, WI

Spend a day exploring Milwaukee. The highlight for many is the Harley Davidson museum which celebrates over 100 years of these iconic motorcycles. Overnight in Milwaukee.

Day 15 Chicago, IL

Continue your drive south along the shore of Lake Michigan back to Chicago. Drop off your hire car prior to boarding your onward flight.
