Introduction

This full day guided tour combines the diverse beauty of the subalpine terrain in the Olympic Mountains at Hurricane Ridge with the lush old-growth forests of Lake Crescent, concluding with a hike to Marymere Falls. The tour begins with a scenic 45 minute drive from sea level in Port Angeles to 5,242 feet elevation atop Hurricane Ridge. On a clear day, Hurricane Ridge provides a front-row view of the Bailey Range in the interior Olympic Mountains and an ocean-facing view of the Strait of Juan De Fuca, Vancouver Island, and the San Juan Islands. Our 2-3 mile guided hike will feature sweeping vistas of the glacier-capped Olympics, forested river valleys, and subalpine meadows. After allocating time for a picnic lunch, our group will spend the remainder of the afternoon at Lake Crescent. This glacier-fed lake is one of the iconic landmarks of Olympic National Park and features a beautiful 2 mile hike to Marymere Falls in its surrounding old-growth forests, plus additional hiking as time permits.
