Introduction

With Yellowstone National Park being over 2.2 million acres, there is no way to see everything in one day.We recommend at least taking 2 days to explore Yellowstone. While the Lower Loop has the majority of the geothermal features and a wide variety of terrain changes, the Upper Loop is also a world of its own.The Upper Loop of Yellowstone has spectacular views over Lake Yellowstone, the Grand View of Yellowstone’s Grand Canyon, views over Dunraven Pass,Mount Washburn, and the Lamar Valley.Visit some of the most beautiful waterfalls Yellowstone has to offer such as:Tower Falls,Wraith Falls, and Undine falls. These lush areas are known for a variety of wildlife foraging for food along the river, and searching for berries in the thick Juniper trees.Next you’ll be heading to Mammoth Hot Springs just in time for lunch.Having a deli style picnic lunch in the center of town is a great experience. While having a peaceful lunch, you are surrounded by the amazing Travertine Terraces at Mammoth. While having lunch you may also get the rare privilege of having the resident elk heard walk around you while, they are having their lunch also. After lunch,it’s time to explore the Travertine Terraces, whether by foot or take a drive around theses fascinating geothermal formations.Next you’ll take a little drive to the north entrance of Yellowstone,to visit the historic Roosevelt Arch, and hopefully see some mountain goats,on the way.During this tour of the Upper Loop you may get the chance to see wildlife such as: bison, elk, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, black bear, grizzly, fox, coyote, wolves, and a wide vaierty of birds.Although we can never promise wildlife,we do watch wildlife migration patterns to give you the best opportunities for amazing wildlife, and scenic photos. The Upper Loop of Yellowstone has unmatched beauty, history, and wildlife. It is perfect for those who’d like to take a deep breath and enjoy the splendor of all that is Yellowtsone.
