New York City Overview
One of the world’s greatest cities, New York City (known as “The Big Apple”) is a global centre for media, entertainment, art, fashion, research, finance, and trade. There is simply no place in the United States as brimming with opportunities as New York City.
NYC is well laid out, compact streets are packed full of diverse cultures and experience. Made up of five boroughs; Staten Island, The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan it can be hard to know where to start and scenes can change completely from one subway stop to the next. Atmospheric curiosity shops, historic landmarks and hidden restaurants live amongst the bright lights of Broadway and the excitement of the Museum of Modern Art.
From the Statue of Liberty in the harbour to the Empire State Building towering over the Manhattan skyline, from the tunnels of the subway to the riches of Wall Street, from the bright signs of Times Square to the naturalistic beauty of Central Park, and from Yankee Stadium in the Bronx to Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York’s landmarks are quintessential American landmarks. The city’s neighbourhoods and streets are so iconic having featured in numerous TV Shows and films. Here the power, wealth and culture of the United States is on full display in one of the largest and most iconic skylines in the world, in the food and music to be found around every corner, and in the diverse population of immigrants who come from every corner of the globe to take part in what this city has to offer.
The city holds a treat for everyone, from family days spent at Ellis Island taking in the sights of The Statue of Liberty, to holding hands with your partner amongst the leave-lined lanes of Central Park or exploring the streets of Manhattan with friends, every day spent in New York City is an adventure.
